Rock the Block is your chance to take advantage of special deals at three great, downtown Dover businesses: Solid Rock Photos, Renaissance Salon and, of course, Bread Head Bakery & Coffee Shop. Great deals on gift cards, product discounts and so much more at each location!

Renaissance will offer complimentary services (make up touches, restyles, etc) throughout the evening and sales on their popular gift cards. They also tell us it’s a great time to stock up on Aveda & bumble and bumble products!

Solid Rock will sell HALF PRICE GIFT CARDS
(can be used on everything at SRP except senior and wedding packages) and will snap open house pics to post on your facebook page!

As for what we’re doing at BHB: free coffee and assorted, scratch-made sweets all night long. Plus, every edible thing in the shop is BOGO! Buy a loaf of bread; get a loaf free. Buy a White Chocolate Mocha Latte; get another Latte free. Buy a Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie; get… well, you get the idea!

The perfect way to kick start your Halloween weekend!

Saturday, October 30th, local novelist Dale Pierce will be here signing copies of his horror books: Play Me the Song of Death, Bullring and The Wind Blows Death.

This will be a fun event and a great chance for you to come in and meet and support a local author.

The author will be here from 1pm until 5pm, so you have plenty of time to get in here and get scared!

Be ‘Passionately Pink for the Cure’ & you could win Lunch for Four!

Recently, the Bread Man was approached by Diane Carper about an event she is spearheading called ‘Paint the Downtown Pink’. Along with her husband, Tod, Diane owns Renaissance Salon and The Galleria of Salons, as well as several commercial buildings here in the downtown Dover area.

‘Paint the Downtown Pink’ culminates on Saturday, Oct 23, and coincides with October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All proceeds from this terrific event will go directly to Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure.

The Bread Man’s wonderful grandmother, the oft-quoted and always hilarious ‘Nana Bread’, is a breast cancer survivor, so being a part of this event means a lot to us.

It works like this: We are having a raffle for a completely groovy prize (detailed down below). To enter, come in any time this week, up to and including Saturday, Oct 23, and make a $5 donation. We’ll stick a pink heart with your name on it in the front window, and you’re entered into our prize drawing (to be held after the close of business on Saturday). The lucky winner will be notified by telephone on Monday, Oct 25.

Other participating businesses include: Renaissance Salon; Solid Rock Photos; Mary Zifer’s Pizza; Lavender Bridal; Tan 4 Seasons; Blossoms; and Salon Destiny in the Galleria of Salons. Each of these businesses is holding its own raffle, and you can make a donation to enter as many of their raffles as you like.

So, here’s what your $5 donation puts you in the running for: An all-inclusive Lunch for Four at Bread Head! All-inclusive means you and three friends not only get lunch, but fancy drinks like lattes and cappuccino as well! And, to further sweeten the deal, all four lucky diners take home a goodie box of freshly baked Bread Head sweet treats for later!

All told, it’s around a $60 value, and it only takes a $5 donation to get you in the running!
